Why do they do this?

The question I want to know is why when Dad tries to take a nap, Anna and Cole tap him on his nose constantly, whereas when Mom takes a nap, there is absolutely no interruption?

Just a little flyer that Mark Gorin sent out to other docs in the state to market the total joint by Walter Lorenz (now Biomet). Thought I would add it....what the heck!

Monarch Butterfly Tagging

Anna, Cole, and I went to tag monarch butterflies at the Richy Wood Nature Preserve. We learned all about how butterflies grow and eat and their migration patterns. We then got butterfly nets and we looked for butterflies. We didn't catch any butterflies (I don't know how we could have with Cole using his net as a baseball bat), but we enjoyed learning more about the beautiful world around us.

Fishers Fire House

We went on a field trip to the fire house. It was interesting to see inside of a fire house. Cole was hoping to be able to slide down the fire pole, but only the fire fighters can do that.

Butterfly Tea Party

Anna and I went to a Mom and Daughter tea party. Anna got to put on make-up, do an art project and play games. It was fun drinking tea (punch) and eating cupcakes off of real china. The best part was spending time with Anna. We had so much fun.

Cole Starts School Today

Cole starts school today at the Fisher's Motesorri School today. Lori had to make a scrap book page for him for school so I thought I would put in on the blog. I know Cole is really excited about going to school.

Indiana Corn Fields

Anna and Cole are always wondering how tall the corn stalks are in Indiana so we decided to see how they measured-up. ((Indiana does grow the BEST corn on the cob)

Our Home

Here is a picture of our house and backyard. We are enjoying our new home and we love our backyard. It is shady and peaceful. We spend a lot of time there. We have also enjoyed our neighborhood. Our neighbors are very friendly and there are always a lot of kids outside. It is just the kind of neighborhood we were looking for. We have a pool just down the street. It has been fun to watch Anna and Cole become better swimmers as we have done a lot of swimming this summer.

Anna Starts Kindergarten

Anna started Kindergarten this week. We have been shopping for the perfect backpack, folders, pencils, and outfits. We have been counting down the days for school to start. We have been going to ice cream socials. It almost makes me want to go back to school again. We asked Anna what she thought school was going to be like. She thought is was going to be: "fun...hard and easy". She is most excited to "meet her classmates and go outside."
We almost made it through the first week without a glitch. I wasn't at the bus stop to pick Anna up from school. I was down the street a bit talking to a neighbor. I guess you have to be AT the bus stop when the bus comes because Anna didn't get off the bus. I had to call the school and they radioed the bus driver. I few minutes later they brought her back. Anna didn't seem to mind the extra ride. (this is her favorite part of school).
Anna has already made a name for herself at Lantern Road Elementary School. She was voted the best listener by the principal. We are proud of her and excited for a great Kindergarten year.

Indiana State Fair

We rode the train from the Fishers depot to the state fair. We went to the fair on a weekend and it was crowded. We went to some of the exhibits, but there were so many people we couldn't see a lot. We decided the best thing to do was to eat a lot of cotton candy, taffy, and ride the tractor around the fair.

WOW I love you LORI

Good bye Training Wheels

Anna wore a hole in her old bike tire and we bought her a new bike. She decided that since she is starting kindergarten she needed to learn to ride her bike without training wheels. When Corbin gets home from work Anna is ready to go practice. (Mom is terrible at teaching and made Anna crash a few times). After a week, some crashes, and a sweaty Dad, Anna is riding her bike like a pro and even rode it to her school tonight.

Cole's New Haircut

Cole gave himself a haircut by cutting a big chunk of hair right at his forehead. When I asked him why he cut his hair he said, "because I want my hair like Dad's". Corbin took him to a barber to finish up the job and they definitely have the same haircut now.

The Abraham Family

Sonya, Stephanie, and Nicholas came to visit for a few days. Nick had his wisdom teeth pulled-out by Corbin and so he was a little swollen during their stay, but he was a good sport. During their stay we got pedicures (Stephanie's first), went to Symphony on the Prarie, and did some sight-seeing around Indianapolis. We enjoyed their visit and were sad to have them go home.
