Well today was a beautiful fall day and we took advantage of it by going on a walk and to the park....it is hard to not find peace and joy in the beauty of the colors and the chill in the air. Times like theses only last for so many weeks in the fall if not days. We love our Sunday time together.

The Cross Country Race
Well today, Cole and Anna ran in a H.S.E. Sports Organization Cross Country Race. They were the youngest, especially Cole. They were mostly 2nd and 3rd Graders, but the kids Awesome.....it was a Mile Race (almost...1500 meters). I was very proud of them to finish the mile race. They liked it. It was a very chilly day but they did great!

The Mother of all words......
So my boy finally said it, the mother of all words, he has been a hard time with the K and F sound which he has been practicing. Well, he took the word sucker and practiced. I told him that was the worst word a person could ever say and not to say it.... So what does he do this morning, he tells his mom he now knows what the worst word is and tells her! I got a phone call needless to say!

What a great visit
Well, Cole and I on our way back up North had it planned to stop on Tuesday morning and visit CG Heath but was thankful he could change plans and take time out of his busy business day on Monday to get some early dinner/dessert at Mom's Cafe in Salina. I think we used to eat often on Sundays as a kid growing up as a family.
Seeing CG was probably on of the best highlights of the year for me. He is a great man!!! We were inseperable as kids until we grew and developed other hobbies....I hate to admit but we got away with ALOT as kids, much of which we both I believe have tried to forget, but luckily we both have wonderful families.....I wish I would have gotten a picture with his family. He took me and Cole around Salina, and eventhough things look the same things for sure change. We also visited his home in Redmond and saw places where we grew up.
Deer Hunt on Mt. Dutton, up above Antimony

Cole was able to see some great and rough country, some shooting of deer, was able to ride the horse by himself on the way down, as I rode on the back, and also got to ride with a dead deer on the horse as well. When asked what his favorite part was he told me it was playing with Mason, Robbie Gleave son who is one year older than Cole. Those two are quite the pair....my concern is in 10 years as we go back and back it to catch those two sneaking off doing things they should not be doing.
We did not go back up Monday, as we decided we better head up north and make our way.....which gave a us a chance to visit Salina!!! What a great time.

Soccer is over

Well it has been a great fall. Both Anna and Cole did a great job. They had awesome volunteer coaches who really cared and tried hard to make it a great experience for all the kids. Anna really excelled this year in soccer. This was her first year, as well as for Cole. Anna really took to soccer and loved it. She chipped her Ankle 9 days prior to her last game, and even though she could barely walk (http://corbinpartridge.blogspot.com/2009/10/chipped-ankle.html) she wanted to play....she did great and made it a whole half.....the Coaches all were concerned but she toughed through it....I finally made a Father's decision to say...."this is only 6-7 year old soccer, we better just take it easy." Cole also did great and made great strides....he was not so sure about soccer from day one, but tried hard. The both got trophies and Cole's coach even personally bought the kids a second trophy with their names on it. Cole now carries all three of his trophies EVERYWHERE he goes, even to bed. (swimming and soccer trophies)
Life Role Model

Anna is a very caring individual and we have always known this and love her dearly for how much she does indeed care for others. On her Poster of the Week she put one of her favorite things to do is say nice words to other people. I hope she continues to be just how she is, she is a great girl. She was nominated by another teacher for this Life Role Model.
