Day 6 from the dog bite

Today is day 6. Cole let me take his sutures out last night on the kitchen table. He was very tough and did not complain at all, however, I could tell it was very painful for him to have them out. Most kids would never, and I mean never let one take sutures out unless under an anesthetic....so he did great. I think he looks really good and seems to be healing well.

1965 Mustang

Well, I guess we did it...we bought a 1965 Mustang (two weeks ago) which is just awesome...this car obviously will be spending ALOT of time under covers in the garage.....very awesome!!!!!

Day 4 from the dog bite

Well as you can see, Cole is healing very nicely. He still has some ptosis which we hope with time will not be a problem, otherwise, we are encouraged by his progress. He is a tough little guy!!!

Day 2 from the Dog Bite

Cole is doing great....he thought it was like Christmas will all the gifts that everyone brought over to him. He has not been fazed by the dog bite.....he still LOVES dogs.

His eyelid wound is looking much better and for day two (thank goodness for steroids) he is doing very well. We are just hoping he gets all his function back soon and the eyelid ptosis will eventually go away.

The Dog Bite

Well I got a call today at the office telling me that Lori was bringing Cole in as he got bitten by a dog around his right eye. He is a trooper. When he saw me he quit crying and was a tough little boy. He had his superior eyelid (bleph type incision) that was completely open with one of the three fat pads protruding through the wound as the superior orbital septum was punctured. We started an IV and repositioned everything and closed the wound under general anesthetic in the office.

He is quite the kid.....his height level with a large dogs face and his go go go go that led to a snip which ended up being a facial bite by the dog. He was concerned about the dog as he did not want his friend to lose his dog. Accidents happen and I am just thankful we were blessed that although it was traumatic for Cole. Although a bad injury, this could have been much worse....we are just blessed his globe was not punctured.

Cole

Well for the longest time we would REALLY worry about Cole as we wondered if he ever would learn to write his letters and draw....well in the last little while he has really liked the idea of drawing and writing his letters....he is doing really good. He is ready Kindergarten and in his world all he sees is the opportunity to ride the bus with Anna. He told me he can't wait to ride the bus, and he said he is going to sit with Anna everyday.

A Day at the Zoo

We enjoyed a beautiful day at the zoo with Grandma Jane. Our favorite animals were the rhino and the giraffe. Anna loved the dolphin show and wants to be a dolphin trainer. Cole loved petting the sharks.

Happy Easter

We were blessed by beautiful weather for Easter weekend. Saturday we had an Easter egg hunt in our neighborhood and a very nice church service in the evening (finished off with a win for the Butler Bulldogs). Sunday morning the Easter bunny went a little crazy hiding clues all over the house. When the baskets were recovered Anna and Cole enjoyed playing legos, reading Magic Treehouse books and making shrinky dinks. We went for a bike ride in the afternoon. In the evening we had a nice dinner with our good friends. We finished the evening off with some zip lining and trampoline jumping. It was a great weekend to reflect on the resurrection of Jesus Christ and to spend time with our family.

Tessa is Seven Months Old

Tessa keeps winning our hearts over every day. She has three teeth. We hope the other one comes soon or we may need to Kentucky. She sits and flaps her arms but hasn't made any attempts to roll or crawl. Perhaps having three family members that take you where you need to go doesn't help. She refuses to have help with eating. She will grab the spoon out of your hand and drop it on the ground. She likes to go to her nursery class as long as Mom is in sight. Her Mom, Dad, Anna, Cole and Polly are her best friends and she stays entertained with what is going on around her. She has a cute smile and laugh and nice cheeks to kiss.

Great Day on Friday

Cole and I went for a very long bike ride and made our way through the woods down to the creek where Cole decided it was warm enough to just get all muddy and wet. He had ALOT of fun and is such a good bike rider.

Mom, Tessa, and Anna went for a VERY long walk. What beautiful weather we are having....80 degrees and very little humidity.
