Happy Easter

We were blessed by beautiful weather for Easter weekend. Saturday we had an Easter egg hunt in our neighborhood and a very nice church service in the evening (finished off with a win for the Butler Bulldogs). Sunday morning the Easter bunny went a little crazy hiding clues all over the house. When the baskets were recovered Anna and Cole enjoyed playing legos, reading Magic Treehouse books and making shrinky dinks. We went for a bike ride in the afternoon. In the evening we had a nice dinner with our good friends. We finished the evening off with some zip lining and trampoline jumping. It was a great weekend to reflect on the resurrection of Jesus Christ and to spend time with our family.

Tessa is Seven Months Old

Tessa keeps winning our hearts over every day. She has three teeth. We hope the other one comes soon or we may need to Kentucky. She sits and flaps her arms but hasn't made any attempts to roll or crawl. Perhaps having three family members that take you where you need to go doesn't help. She refuses to have help with eating. She will grab the spoon out of your hand and drop it on the ground. She likes to go to her nursery class as long as Mom is in sight. Her Mom, Dad, Anna, Cole and Polly are her best friends and she stays entertained with what is going on around her. She has a cute smile and laugh and nice cheeks to kiss.

Great Day on Friday

Cole and I went for a very long bike ride and made our way through the woods down to the creek where Cole decided it was warm enough to just get all muddy and wet. He had ALOT of fun and is such a good bike rider.

Mom, Tessa, and Anna went for a VERY long walk. What beautiful weather we are having....80 degrees and very little humidity.

First Grade Play

After many early morning practices and hearing Anna sing "Kids Life" songs over and over we finally got the see the famous Lantern Road First Grade Play. These are the moments that make parents proud. Anna auditioned to be a speaker and got a part. It was so fun to hear her say her lines flawlessly. She has gained a lot of confidence through this experience and had a lot of fun preparing for this play.

Lost Another Tooth

Well, Anna lost another tooth and she wrote the tooth fairy a letter saying she did not want any money, all she wanted instead was to be taken to tooth fairy land.

Here is what the Tooth Fairy wrote her back:

Dear Anna,

Thank you for the beautiful note. I wish I could take you to tooth fairy land. Out of all the kids that I see and get to add their teeth to tooth fairy land, never have I had such a beautiful note. I wanted to take you, but can’t. It is against the laws of the land to take a little boy or girl to tooth fairy land. I went back and got a picture that I have on my wall and wanted to give it to you.

Thank you for being such a brave and sweet little girl. Your mom and dad are so proud of you. They love you. I heard from your dad that you told the truth about a VERY scary thing that happened. You are such a great little girl and I wish you to grow up strong and always tell your mom and dad what matters the most.

I love you,

Tooth Fairy

Louisvillle Slugger Museum

We enjoyed visiting Louisville this weekend. We went to the Louisville Bat Museum, drove by our old house and visited friends. It was fun showing Anna and Cole where we used to live. I forgot how beautiful Kentucky is. We have many good memories of living there.

Tessa is 6 months old

Little Tessa in growing up. She weighs 17 pounds 2 ounces and is 26 1/4 inches long. She has two little teeth on the bottom. She loves to sit and play with toys and watch what is going on around her. She is enjoying trying different foods and hasn't found a food she doesn't like so far. She continues to be such a happy girl and makes friends wherever she goes.

Cartwheels, Ponytails and Art classes

Today I was photographing some everyday things I want to remember about Anna and Cole:
Anna has been taking a drawing class with her friend Emily. She is enjoying it and I am amazed at what she can draw.
Cole has found a new found interest in cartwheels. It is not unusual to have him drop and do a cartwheel at dinner or in the store---just about anywhere is a good place for a quick cartwheel.
Anna has become very predictable about how she wants her hair fixed. I think she has worn her hair in one ponytail for at least 2 months in a row. She loves ponytails.

Manicures

Anna decided that it would be fun to paint my fingernails. After 5 coats or various colors and heart and flower stickers on each fingernail my manicure was finally complete.

The Fire House

Cole's friend invited him to visit the firehouse with him where his Dad works as a firefighter. He got to eat lunch with the fire fighters, slide down the fire pole and ride on the fire engine. Cole even told us that he signed his name on a list that says he is going to be a fire fighter. I admit, I was the tiniest bit jealous that I didn't get invited. I have always wanted to slide down the fire pole.

Eating Cereal

Exciting things are happening at the Partridge house. Tessa started eating rice cereal. For a couple of weeks she has gotten fussy at dinner time. I finally decided it was because she wanted to try eating some solid food. She took one bite, swallowed and opened for the next bite. She acted like she was a pro. She is definitely a Partridge.

Another Snow Storm

In the passed week we have gotten four snow storms. At first, I admit, it was pretty and exciting to play in the snow. I was excited when they cancelled school so the kids could stay home and play. After the fourth one it is becoming cold and slushy and not as exciting. I am looking forward to spring and hopefully it is just around the corner.

Skiing in Indiana

Just when you think Indiana is missing something you discover it was there all the time. We discovered there is a ski resort about 1 1/2 away in Lawrenceburg, IN. Corbin took Anna and Cole and they had a great day. Anna and Cole took ski lessons and spent the afternoon practicing their new skiing skills. It was a great way to enjoy the abundance of snow we have gotten this winter.

Tessa is Five Months Old

It is hard to believe that Tessa in five months old. The time goes so quickly. She brings so much joy into our family. She always has a big smile for us when we get her out of bed. She loves watching Anna and Cole play. She talks a lot and likes to try the different ranges of her voice. She likes to give big kisses and giggles if you tickle her in just the right spot. She hates to lay flat on her back. There is something she is sure she is missing out on. She can grab things with her index finger and thumb. She likes to sit in a high chair and eat a few crackers at dinner, although Mom hasn't gotten up the courage to start feeding her yet.

Kids Against Hunger

We have been reading in the news about Haiti and talking about it as a family. We wanted to do something as a family to help. Our church organized a project called Kids Against Hunger. Corbin, Anna and Cole spent the afternoon packaging meals that will be sent to Haiti. Corbin said they helped package over 80,000 meals.
