The South Side Soda Shop

We made a pilgrimage to the South Side Soda Shop in Goshen Indiana that was featured on the Food Network. We had fun drinking green river soda and fresh cut twisty fries. For dessert Anna ordered a plate of pickles. (we aren't sure if she is really a Partridge if she picks pickles over ice cream) but we will still keep her.

Explaining Michael Jackson to the Kids

Well, if this is possible, we were sitting down explaining the death of Michael Jackson and who he was in terms of him being the "King of Pop."

We decided it be best to listen to his music with the kids which is a favorite past time they have. As we listened, they informed me that he was not very good, unlike David Cook they told me. I then took them to the computer to make them watch how well he danced and moved......Anna continued to tell me that he did dance good BUT NOT AS GOOD AS COLE. I will only say one thing, kids are very blind, because I don't know one Partridge that can Dance......I think it was a Partridge that Phil Collins was singing about when he was singing...."I can't dance........"

Big Rain Puddles

Well we got home from vacation and Cole was out on his bike, when it rains here on the Street we get alot of overflow water from Sand Creek which is behind our house, luckily even the worst of worst storms has not seen water get in our yard, but on an adjacent street there are huge puddles which Cole finds a great opportunity to get wet in.

With Grandma Jane

The Lilly Pads, they spent hours doing these....Anna is not pictured directly but she and Cole did great.

1000 gallons of water dumped every 5 minutes, you can see Anna on the left and Cole on the right.

Three Person Tube

Anna going down the Green Monster by herself after she fell off and slammed her head and got smashed by the two man tube with her DAD, she told her Dad that when you fall off the horse you get back on and ride again.....very tough little girl!

We had a great Vacation in Michigan last week and the best part was our stay at the Great Wolf Lodge in Traverse City, Michigan. We initially went up north and saw the UP in Michigan but the weather was such that it did not cooperate, therefore we ended up in Traverse City. Grandma Jane came out and it was a GREAT time!

Corbin's Birthday

Anna and Cole have been so excited for their Dad's birthday. We have been planning for weeks what kind of cake to make for Dad and what gifts to get him. We made and decorated a cake and took it his work to celebrate. Anna made her Dad a book that she made and Cole gave his Dad a sweatshirt that he won in a drawing. I think they were the perfect gifts for him.

We also interviewed Corbin to see what he was like when he was a kid:

1. What were the names of your pets growing up: Buddy and Daisy (there were others, just ask his mom)
2. What was your favorite subject in school: Math
3. What was your favorite hobby: Sports
4. Who was your best friend: CG
5. What was your favorite food: corndogs
6. How much did you get for an allowance: one dollar a week
7. Who was your hero: my Dad
8. What was your favorite toy: my bike
9. What had not been invented yet: computers

Strawberry Picking

We went to Spencer Farms to pick strawberries. Anna and I enjoyed picking strawberries. Cole picked one strawberry and then began complaining about how hot it was (it was only 80 degrees) and how thirsty he was. We have enjoyed eating fresh strawberries all week.
