Gymnastics

Cole has been doing gymnastics now for about a year and he has become really strong and agile. It is amazing how well he does at www.deveaus.com . He has been able to climb the rope (very high rope at that) and last week told Aaron he wanted to help that he was going to go up and down from the bottom. He also did 10 pull ups with no assistance.

Chicago

I enjoyed a great weekend with my sisters, niece, Mom, and my friend Cindy. We met on a Friday and had some delicious Chicago deep dish pizza. On Saturday we went to the Chicago Art Museum and had Chicago hot dogs, of course. In the evening we went to "Billy Elliot". On Sunday we took a tour of downtown Chicago and then it was time for everyone to go back home. I am grateful for the time I got to spend with them. The weekend was fun, but went much too quickly.

Tessa is One Year Old

Tessa turned one today. She is full of life and we are blessed to have her in our family. Tessa is walking now and nothing is safe at our house. She likes to rub her nose against soft things. If you can't find her she is probably in Anna or Cole's room looking at their stuffed animals. She likes to point at things and have you tell her the name of it. She likes to go for walks and look at flowers and leaves. She likes to feed Jackson treats. She weighs 22 lbs, 2 oz and is 30 inches long. She is much more opinionated and will push things away and get frustrated if she can't do things. It is amazing to watch her grow and change.

Chicago

We took a weekend trip to Chicago. Anna and Cole have been working hard this summer to buy something for themselves. Anna bought an American Girl Doll. She good a class on how to fix her doll's hair. Grandma Jane, Anna and I enjoyed a brunch at the cafe. It was fun to spend some girl time with Anna.

Cole and Dad had fun looking around Chicago (away from the American Girl Museum). Cole liked the Lego store and used his money to buy Lego's.

Opened eyes

I honestly can't believe I did the stair stepper for 7 years strait! Ever since I started p90x it just seems so ridiculous now that I did the exact same workout.....even doing it 123 out of 124 days for 60 minutes when I was deployed with the Combat Support Hospital!!!! Oh how that time could have been better served..... I have never felt better in my life!!! Goal is to be in better shape when I turn 40 than I have ever been!!!!!

Fishing in Pendleton

Well Cole has recently told me he wanted to go fishing or shoot a duck.....I decided fishing is the better alternative. We went Saturday night and I had to try and try to get the kids to leave around 10:30 pm.....we had a great time.......almost got skunked but Cole did catch a nice little channel cat fish....Anna learned how to cast and use an open face fishing reel......she really did not fish as much as practice casting......what a great night!!!!

Tessa is Eleven Months Old

It is hard to believe that is has almost been a year ago that Tessa was born. It has been a fast year. It is always amazing to me how quickly babies grow and change and Tessa is no exception. She is full of life, energy and smiles. She is cruising everywhere and taking a few steps on her own. She can also Army crawl. Between the two she gets where she needs to go. She loves the attention of Anna and Cole and her Dad is her new best friend. She likes to look at books, snuggle with her stuffed animals and be in the middle of the action.

The Jackson's

It was fun having our cousin's visit for the week. We went for a bike ride on the canal, spent the day at Conner Prairie and of course shot off a few fireworks. Our house seems quiet now that they are gone.

As a side note.......when I look at this picture (DAD) I can just feel the cool air conditioned air being sucked out of that open door......

Anna has Braces

Anna visited Dr. Walker today http://www.walkerdixonortho.com/ AND they are simply the best.....what a great job they do.....Anna spent about 30 minutes reading all the papers that go with any hygiene accessories that the office gave her.....we got her a water pick as suggested and she is off and running. Has already told us which tooth brush she is taking to school. She is just nervous her teacher won't let her brush her teeth after lunch. I assured her that her teachers will allow her to brush.....they don't want her running around with noodles (her favorite food) sticking out of her braces.

What more can we say, our little girl is growing up!

King's Island

Well we went to King's Island and enjoyed ourselves and even made it through the crowds and the HEAT....what a fun day filled with good rides and good times. We think Lori's picture would be perfect for a deodorant commercial.

Conner Prairie Camp

Anna and Cole attended Conner Prairie Camp this week with a couple of friends. They had a great time shooting bow and arrows, riding in paddle boats and fishing. Their favorite thing about the week was riding in a hot air balloon.

Tessa is Ten Months Old

Tessa is becoming more and more mobile. She has just learned to roll over and enjoy being on her stomach. She loves to cruise around furniture and walk with her toy car. She likes to snuggle with her pink bunny and rub his ears against her face. She likes to listen to music and dance along with it. Her fingers are getting better at grabbing small things. She likes to look through books. She is usually happy and smiling. We are amazed by her curly hair.

Fourth of July

We had a fun Fourth of July. Our neighborhood had a bike parade and picnic with spectacular fireworks that evening. Our good friends, the Boezman's invited us over for a cook-out. The kids enjoyed the slippery slide and water balloons.

Cole's Gymnastics

Cole has been taking gymnastics for awhile and is enjoying it. He has been working on climbing a rope with a bell hung on the top. Each week he gets a little closer and tonight he reached the top. He was so excited. We are proud of Cole.

Anna's Piano Recital

Anna has been taking piano lessons for about 6 months and had her first recital. She did a beautiful job. It was neat to have Grandma Jane there. Miss Kathy, our neighbor and dear friend has been Anna's teacher. It should also be noted that this is the first time Anna has worn a skirt or dress since anyone can remember.

Happy Anniversary

After 13 years Corbin makes me laugh almost every day. I am amazed at how much he can get done in a day. I think he is as handsome as the first day I saw him. I am grateful for the life we have. I am living the life of my dreams in Indiana (who would have thought)?

Friends

On our drive to North Carolina it was great to reconnect with some friends. We stopped to see our friend Dr. Hammon's in Lexington. Anna and Cole loved looking at his crystal collection and listening to the poetry he is writing for his upcoming book. It was also great to see the Scott's in North Carolina. We enjoyed eating dinner and swimming at their pool. We are blessed to have many good friends.

Fishing

Anna, Cole and Corbin enjoyed a day of deep sea fishing.

Emerald Isle

We enjoyed a relaxing week in North Carolina. It was fun to see some beautiful places on our drive there. Cole liked riding the waves. Anna was a sea shell collector. Tessa enjoyed the water on her toes.
