Deer Hunt on Mt. Dutton, up above Antimony

Well it was a great weekend. Cole and I went out with DAD up on Mt. Dutton where it was windy and cold but great days as you can see. We rode Saturday all day and Sunday all day. I know it was rough on Cole, a 4 year old but he did GREAT. When asked how many times he complained the answer was zero, and he is right!!! The whole Gleave clan were awesome and it is sooooo awesome to be able to spend time at home up on the mountain getting back with my DAD and spending time with my son. Cole was the youngest on the mountain and my DAD was the oldest....how about that!!!! We were totally prepared for the ride, except I FORGOT sunscreen and my face looks like it. My nose and lips are swollen and painful. But what a great great great time!
Cole was able to see some great and rough country, some shooting of deer, was able to ride the horse by himself on the way down, as I rode on the back, and also got to ride with a dead deer on the horse as well. When asked what his favorite part was he told me it was playing with Mason, Robbie Gleave son who is one year older than Cole. Those two are quite the pair....my concern is in 10 years as we go back and back it to catch those two sneaking off doing things they should not be doing.
We did not go back up Monday, as we decided we better head up north and make our way.....which gave a us a chance to visit Salina!!! What a great time.

Tessa is Growing

Tessa went for her one month check up and she weighs 9 pounds 9 ounces and is 21 1/2 inches. She holds her head up and is starting to coo. She is awake more especially at night when Mom and Dad are ready to go to bed. I guess she can't be perfect.

Soccer is over

Well it has been a great fall. Both Anna and Cole did a great job. They had awesome volunteer coaches who really cared and tried hard to make it a great experience for all the kids. Anna really excelled this year in soccer. This was her first year, as well as for Cole. Anna really took to soccer and loved it. She chipped her Ankle 9 days prior to her last game, and even though she could barely walk (http://corbinpartridge.blogspot.com/2009/10/chipped-ankle.html) she wanted to play....she did great and made it a whole half.....the Coaches all were concerned but she toughed through it....I finally made a Father's decision to say...."this is only 6-7 year old soccer, we better just take it easy." Cole also did great and made great strides....he was not so sure about soccer from day one, but tried hard. The both got trophies and Cole's coach even personally bought the kids a second trophy with their names on it. Cole now carries all three of his trophies EVERYWHERE he goes, even to bed. (swimming and soccer trophies)

Life Role Model

Anna is a very caring individual and we have always known this and love her dearly for how much she does indeed care for others. On her Poster of the Week she put one of her favorite things to do is say nice words to other people. I hope she continues to be just how she is, she is a great girl. She was nominated by another teacher for this Life Role Model.

Colts Game

Cole and I went to the Colts game today......we had a lot of fun. We went with the Garrison family who so generously gave us tickets. When I asked Cole what his favorite part was about the day he said it was seeing Gracie (the Garrison's youngest Golder Retriever who is very friendly to Cole) and the second favorite was the Starburst.......even if......we did indeed have a GREAT TIME!!!!

Chipped Ankle

Well we got a trampoline and already have our first injury. Anna and Cole were jumping and talked me into playing a jumping game....well needless to say, we got jumping, Anna landed and we heard a HUGE crack....tears started rolling, however, Anna being Anna tried to refuse any help but after convincing her, we carried her into the house....I made a call to the ER at Community North to see if we could slip in the back door.....an hour later we had our radiograph and the ER Doc fixed us up in his office under the radar.....we were very thankful.

Even the good guys need a rest from getting the bad guys

Well, this is classic Cole, he loves to dress up in any superhero costume......or his army stuff and fight bad guys in his room.....if I could only count the number of times he falls asleep in middle of his made up fights in his room as we hear him grunting and jumping while using his swords to get the bad guys.

Anna and Cole used to play (and still do) in the basement while pretending to be parents and Anna used to complain that Cole never helped with any of the chores....I hope Lori does not feel this way, but Cole's response was he was "busy getting bad guys keeping Anna safe!"

Reading through the blog

Well today we were going through the blog and looking at pictures and reading about our lives with the kids. Where we got to the day Sam died, I got all choked up and I looked over with Cole in my arms and Cole was sobbing....it was quite a sad but actually enjoyable moment to remember about Sam our dalmatian. http://corbinpartridge.blogspot.com/2005/06/goodbye-sam-partridge.html

After we got through reading through the blog Cole asked me if we could read about Sam again and so we went back, and a second time Cole was sobbing and then told me how much he missed Sam.

My two best friends

Tessa is now two weeks old, and even though in this picture she looks cranky, she is actually a great little baby. But believe me it was very hard to even attempt to get a picture with her two siblings, Anna and Cole.

She is now 7lbs, 6 ounces and is very healthy. Anna and Cole are her two best friends.
