Indiana State Fair

We enjoyed eating our way through the Indiana State Fair. Lori's favorite: salt water taffy, Corbin's: corn dogs, Cole's: corn dogs, Anna's snow cones. No one was brave enough to try to chocolate covered bacon. It was the strangest food we saw this year (even above the deep fried Pepsi). It was fun to spend the day at the fair before Anna and Cole head back to school.

Symphony on the Prarie

What better way to spend a beautiful summer evening than listening to Billy Joel music played by the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, eating kettle corn, running up and down hills and catching lightening bugs.

Swim Team

Anna and Cole both did swim team this summer. It was a great experience for them. They had practice four days a week and swim meets throughout the season. It was fun to watch them compete and to watch their swimming improve.

The Jackson Family

We enjoyed having our Jackson cousins come and visit for the week. We hope they come back again soon.

Happy Fourth of July

Our neighborhood is the best place to be for the fourth of July. On the third of July is the fourth of July preview night complete with roasting smores, riding ziplines and fireworks. On the fourth of July we had a bike parade where all of the kids in the neighborhood decorated their bikes and the fire truck escorted the bikes through the neighborhood. After that we have a picnic. In the evening we did our own fireworks because of rain. On the fifth of July we got to watch another great fireworks show in our neighborhood. Anna and Cole loved all of the late nights and fireworks. Corbin and I think we live in the best neighbhorhood.

Amish Acres

We visited Napanee Indiana where a lot of Amish people live. It was fun going for a buggy ride around an Amish farm and touring what their school houses look like.

The South Side Soda Shop

We made a pilgrimage to the South Side Soda Shop in Goshen Indiana that was featured on the Food Network. We had fun drinking green river soda and fresh cut twisty fries. For dessert Anna ordered a plate of pickles. (we aren't sure if she is really a Partridge if she picks pickles over ice cream) but we will still keep her.

Explaining Michael Jackson to the Kids

Well, if this is possible, we were sitting down explaining the death of Michael Jackson and who he was in terms of him being the "King of Pop."

We decided it be best to listen to his music with the kids which is a favorite past time they have. As we listened, they informed me that he was not very good, unlike David Cook they told me. I then took them to the computer to make them watch how well he danced and moved......Anna continued to tell me that he did dance good BUT NOT AS GOOD AS COLE. I will only say one thing, kids are very blind, because I don't know one Partridge that can Dance......I think it was a Partridge that Phil Collins was singing about when he was singing...."I can't dance........"

Big Rain Puddles

Well we got home from vacation and Cole was out on his bike, when it rains here on the Street we get alot of overflow water from Sand Creek which is behind our house, luckily even the worst of worst storms has not seen water get in our yard, but on an adjacent street there are huge puddles which Cole finds a great opportunity to get wet in.
